Paul T. Fader

Paul Fader joined Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Fader as a
named partner in January 2006, having served as Chief Counsel to New Jersey
Governors James McGreevey and Richard Codey. Paul heads the firm's Construction
and Public Contracting Group and the Government and Regulatory Affairs Group.
He also heads the firm's northern New Jersey office in Rochelle Park.
A native of northern New Jersey, Paul graduated cum laude from William
Paterson College and received his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University
School of Law. He first clerked for the Honorable Syliva B. Pressler and then
practiced law with Connell Foley L.L.P. where he became a partner.
Paul
joined the New Jersey government's leadership team during the McGreevey
administration as Chief of the Authorities unit where he was responsible for
the Governor's relationships with more than 40 independent authorities, boards
and commissions. His work included coordination among all authorities to
achieve better planning and infrastructure improvements. Paul served on the
board of New Jersey Transit, the School Construction Corporation and the
Capital City Redevelopment Authority.
In 2004, Paul was named by
Governor Codey as Chief Counsel. In that capacity, he provided daily legal
counsel to, and representation for, the Governor on issues involving all
aspects of state government.
Paul has been included in PolitickerNJ.com's Power
List of Most Influential People in New Jersey for the past five years.
In January 2009, New Jersey Monthly Magazine
listed Paul as one of the 101
Most Influential People in New Jersey. A noted author on construction
and public contract law, Paul's work has been
featured in publications such as New
Jersey Conference of Mayors' Quarterly Magazine and Construction
Law Update and Fast Fax.
Paul has long been involved
in the national, state and local Democratic party. He served on
then-Congressman Robert Torricelli's staff in the 1980s for the U.S. House of
Representatives, as a delegate for President Clinton to the 1996 Democratic
National Convention, as a member of the Federal Judicial Nominating Committee
for the Federal District Court of the State of New Jersey and as a transition
team member for New Jersey Governors James McGreevey and Richard Codey. He
served two successful terms as Mayor of Englewood.
His professional
memberships include the New Jersey Bar Association and its Committee on
Construction and Public Contract Law, the Bergen County, N.J., Bar Association,
the New Jersey Alliance for Action and the Building Contractors Association of
New Jersey.
