Doug brings to the firm a strong record of favorable verdicts and settlements. His family law experience includes complex and general divorces, child custody disputes, alimony and child support, domestic violence, protection from abuse orders, paternity and adoption.

A native of Warren County, New Jersey, Doug received his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law. While at Gettysburg College, he was a four-year member of their NCAA Division III football team. At Widener University Law School, Doug was a member and, later, associate editor of the Law Review.

Doug began his legal career as a law clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey before joining his father, Joseph W. Steinhardt, in their Belvidere, New Jersey, law practice. Besides deep roots in family law, land use and general litigation matters, Doug has extensive experience in municipal law and, as a public servant, is the first, four-term Mayor in Lopatcong, New Jersey history. In addition to his elected post, Doug also serves as Chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee and Vice-Chairman of the New Jersey Republican County Chairmen's Association. The New Jersey State Bar Association recently named Doug to its governing body as one of just 21 County Trustees to the State Bar where, among other responsibilities, he serves as liaison to the School Law Committee. Doug serves on the Board of Directors of DARE, NJ, Inc., (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the State's leading youth education program for drug, alcohol, gang and violence avoidance.  He is a member of the Legislative Committee of the New Jersey League of Municipalities and on the Board of Directors of the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce. An Eagle Scout, Doug was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the Central New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America in July 2008.

Doug represents such diverse clients as Warren County Community College, the Warren County Welfare Board, the Warren County Sheriff's Office, and the County of Morris as special counsel. He represents numerous other municipal governing bodies and elected and appointed officials throughout New Jersey. Doug also served as the Warren County Adjuster for four years.

Doug is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
